Michelin 2011 – Belvedere Restaurant appreciated once again In this year's (30th) edition of the renowned restaurant and hotel guide - Michelin "Main Cities of Europe" – Belvedere Restaurant was listed as one of the best locations in Europe, receiving three "forks and spoons". This honor, which was awarded to Belvedere Restaurant for the fourth time, is a guarantee of quality and the highest level of services offered. Although no Polish restaurant has yet been honored with the prestigious Michelin stars and the "forks and spoons" are in fact an assessment of a restaurant's appearance, interior design and comfort level, the facility that receives them must uphold a certain, high quality of its menu. Without good food, not even the most comfortable and elegant restaurant will receive a place in the Red Guide. The Michelin Red Guide is number one in the world, both in terms of number of copies sold as well as history and reputation. The origins of the guide hark back to 1900, when cars started appearing on the streets of Paris. It was then that Andre Michelin had an idea to establish a network of tourist information offices around France to advise drivers on the best routes, places worth visiting as well as places to stay and have a good meal. It was his idea to publish the first tourist guide around France. Locations and places of interest were ranked according to the star system, still used today. This year's edition of the Guide lists 36 restaurants – 19 in Warsaw and 17 in Kraków. The "Main Cities of Europe" includes the following countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, the Netherlands, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary, Great Britain and Italy. |

Night at the Łazienki Park On May 14, the Łazienki Park invites you to participate in the "Museums at Night". From dusk till 2 am, the alleys in the park will be decorated with lanterns. From 6 pm to 10 pm, children (aged 5 to 10) will have the opportunity to participate in an educational workshop "In a hot air balloon around the world of science", during which they will build a hot air balloon with their parents and conduct interesting physics experiments. From 7 pm to 2 am, the Park invites you to a night tour of the Palace on the Water, during which guides in outfits from the times of king Stanislaw August Poniatowski will reveal the secrets of the palace by candlelight. At 8 pm, near the Chopin Monument, the Steve Hackett Trio, Włodek Pawlik Trio and Randy Brecker will give a concert, while at 10 pm at the Amphitheater, Bogdan Hołownia will perform jazz versions of songs from the Kabaret Starszych Panów (Old Gentleman's Cabaret). Recipe of the month Scallop tartar with halibut sashimi Ingredients (serves 4): Preparation: Wash and dry the halibut. Marinate in lime zest with olive oil, chili pepper and ginger. Cut into thin slices. Mix soy sauce with lime juice, chopped ginger, chili peppers, garlic, sesame oil and chopped coriander. Shape the halibut slices into a "rose" and place on sauce together with the tartar.
