New arrangement of greenery surrounding Belvedere

Belvedere Restaurant together with the Royal Łazienki Museum undertook an investment aimed at making the garden more attractive for guests of the restaurant and all visitors to the park.

Works continued throughout July, aiming to recreate the Modernist Garden from the first
half of the 20th century. The new arrangement of the greenery surrounding Belvedere Restaurant was created according to the concept of Professor Edward Bartman and the design of the garden of the restaurant itself was made by Barbara Kraus-Galińska.

The Modernist Garden is the newest element in the history of the Łazienki Park. The fashion changing with time and the trends of the 20s and 30s of the twentieth century brought a different nature and new principles of arranging space to the areas adjacent to the Royal Gardens (near the Palace on the Water) and the Belvedere Garden (the hill with the Belvedere building).

The layout of the garden, different than before, other compositional arrangements, new rules for planting trees and shrubs and the selection of plant species were present in the image of the trends in European garden art of the modernism period. In the arrangement of space, the multiplied square and circle - accents points highlighting important places in the garden, are easily discernable.

Already in August, we invite you to visit our new, beautiful Belvedere Restaurant garden.

Launch of the Pink Ribbon 2011 Campaign

On July 14, Belvedere Restaurant was the venue of the press breakfast launching the Campaign for Fighting Breast Cancer 2011. The conference was attended by representatives of the media and representatives of the partners of the Campaign - perfumeries: Douglas, Marionnaud and Sephora, Bank Citi Handlowy and LOT Polish Airlines. On October 1 (the official month dedicated to fighting with breast cancer) the two brands leading on the Polish cosmetics market: Estée Lauder and Clinique, once again will be offering limited editions of Pink Ribbon products. Through their sales, funds will be collected for supporting breast cancer research, conducted at the International Hereditary Cancer Center of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin.

The Campaign for Fighting Breast Cancer of the Estée Lauder Companies was launched by Evelyn H. Lauder in 1992 when, together with the SELF magazine, she created the Pink Ribbon, which became the global symbol of healthy breasts. The mission of the Campaign is to spread the message that early detection of breast cancer saves lives.

August at the Royal Łazienki Park

On  August 2, 3, 4, 5 (10 am - 2 pm) animation workshops for children will take place.
The mysterious world of the Royal Łazienki and an eighteenth-century fairy tale will be the inspiration to create animations. With the use of the stop-motion technique, participants will be able to revive the sculptures from the park, design their own garden, and finally take home a unique, cinematic memory.

16-26 August (10 am -1 pm), the Park invites young theatre lovers (aged 12 - 14 years) to theatre workshops, during which a real court theatre show will be prepared. The play "Advice" by Jan Nepomucen Potocki will be presented to the audience on the last day of workshops at the Stanislaw Theatre!

During the holiday season, the Old Guardhouse turns into the GUARDHOUSE STATION. On each Sunday during the summer, at 11 am - 4 pm, the Guardhouse Station offers an array of creative activities: board games, games straight from the 18th century, art classes, screenings, exhibitions and workshops, as well as a large selection of books that can be read while enjoying music from the times of King Stanislauw August!

Sommelier recommends

EVIAN - exceptional water for the summer

Evian Water is a natural mineral water, which from the geological point of view is 8000 years old. It was discovered by Marquis de Lessert in 1789 in the French Alps, at the Cachat source, which in 1869 was renamed the d'Evian-les-Bains source.

Evian owes its crystal cleanness and neutral taste to natural filtration processes, lasting 15 years. Natural filters make the minerals contained in the Evian water a unique and properly balanced composition. Evian water is bottled directly at the source and tested 300 times a day. This makes the water crystal clean when it reaches the hands of the buyer.

The healthy properties of the Evian were appreciated as early as 1878 by the French Medical Academy. To this day, it is recommended as water for use in hospital: for people with severe body burns, and water which can be given even to very young children.

Evian water is a symbol of the French sophisticated life-style. It is served in prestigious restaurants all over the globe and sold in fashionable places, clubs and the best shops. All over the world, it is associated with luxury and especially appreciated by celebrities like Madonna, Elton John or Brad Pitt. It accompanies the most famous fashion designers like Dolce & Gabanna, Versace, Pucci, Fendi, Kenzo, Victor & Rolf, Alexandre Matthieu, or Icarius. For many of them., the Evian water is also a source of inspiration.
